Sergio Reguilon has wished Joe Rodon ‘all the best’ on the Tottenham player’s Instagram after he was loaned out to French side, Rennes.

On Monday, Spurs confirmed that Tottenham’s back-up centre-back has joined Rennes on a season-loan loan, with an option to buy included in the deal.

Last season, Rodon was a fringe player under Antonio Conte, and despite the Italian playing a back three, he still struggled for regular game time.

For the 24-year-old, the message was pretty clear when Spurs opted to bring in Clement Lenglet on a loan deal from Barcelona this summer.

Ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which will be Wales’ first WC tournament since the 1950s’, someone like Rodon simply can’t afford to be half-cooked heading into that tournament, hence why this move was needed.

Nonetheless, when the loan was confirmed, Rodon took to his IG to welcome himself to his new fans and left-back, Reguilon posted in the comments section, ‘All the best, big Joe’, whilst Swansea City’s Jordon Garric told him to ‘do your thing’.

REGUILON TO FOLLOW SUIT?

Tottenham concluded a number of their deals early and got players through the door before pre-season could start for Conte.

But now it seems as though it’s about parting ways with the players that need the game time or Conte just doesn’t want at the club.

It seems as though Reguilon is one of those players, he wasn’t part of the club’s pre-season tour and there are suggestions that he wants to leave, as a result.

In truth, it would be the right call because Ryan Sessegnon and summer signing, Ivan Perisic, are now ahead of the Spain international.
