Celtic defender Kieran Tierney has been linked with Bournemouth in the summer transfer window.

Kieran Tierney of Celtic is seen during the Scottish Premier League between Celtic and Kilmarnock at Celtic Park on May 9, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have been linked with Kieran Tierney of Celtic, but it is Bournemouth who appear to be intent of securing the services of the Scotland international left-back.

According to a report in The Scottish Sun last month, Premier League trio Tottenham, United and Bournemouth are interested in signing Tierney from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

A report in The Daily Mail today has claimed that Cherries are ready to pay £20 million as transfer fee for the 20-year-old left-back.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has also refused to rule out making a move for Tierney, who can also operate as a central defender.

The Daily Mail quotes Howe as saying about interest in Tierney: “I think we’ve had half an eye on the transfer market from probably January onwards.

“You are never totally out of the market – you are analysing and seeing what you can and can’t do, watching potential players all the time. We have a good knowledge of what could be out there, what players we could recruit.

“Of course getting them over the line and getting them to want to come here and join the journey is the difficult part – and the finances that go with that. It’s going to be a summer where we are going to have to be patient.”

Future uncertain?

It seems that Bournemouth could make a serious bid for Tierney in the summer transfer window, and it will be interesting to see how Celtic react.

A transfer fee of £20m would be hard for the Glasgow giants to turn down, although replacing a player of Tierney’s talent and potential would be hard to replace.
