Jamie Carragher discusses Tottenham defenders Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld.

Liverpool struck twice against Tottenham at the weekend to win at Wembley and could easily have scored more.
Reds legend Jamie Carragher told SkySports he was not impressed with the way Mauricio Pochettino’s side set up at Wembley, particularly in defence.
Carragher said he felt Tottenham defenders Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld were exposed by Spurs playing their full-backs in advanced roles, saying they never stood a chance.
He said: “I don’t care which centre-backs you’ve got. The best in the world cannot cope covering the full width of the pitch.
“Tottenham have the two best centre-backs in the Premier League for the last three or four years, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, and they were all over the place.”

Alderweireld is being rested for Tottenham’s game with Inter Milan tonight, along with Kieran Trippier.
Pochettino criticised his defenders after the game, telling The Guardian he felt they were ‘scared’ to play out from the back.
Tottenham had won the corresponding fixture against Liverpool last season 4-1.
On this occasion they were outplayed by Jurgen Klopp’s side, and with the immediate game against Inter tonight, there is little time for Pochettino to dwell on it.
