Glasgow Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos looks set to enjoy his first taste of the Old Firm when Celtic visit Ibrox this weekend.

Based on how he has started the season, Rangers fans would be forgiven for believing that Alfredo Morelos’ performance this weekend could have a major say on whether the Gers end their wait for a win against Celtic.

The Colombian has been fantastic since arriving at Ibrox in the summer, scoring eight times in the previous six games for Pedro Caixinha’s men.

That form should perhaps make him the player that Celtic should fear the most when the two sides meet in the first Old Firm game of the season on Saturday – but perhaps there is one small downside for the Light Blues if Morelos does shine and make a match-winning impact for Rangers.

The Scotsman reported earlier this week that five Championship sides have been to watch Morelos following his blistering start for the Gers.

The clash with Celtic will surely provide the best indication yet of how much quality the 21-year-old actually possesses given how long it has been since Brendan Rodgers’ men actually lost a domestic game.

Therefore, if Morelos continues his lethal recent run and makes an impact in the first Old Firm game, it may give Rangers a chance of celebrating a positive result, but it may perhaps also prove to be the catalyst for the reported interest in him to intensify further.
