Jamie O’Hara has praised Tottenham Hotspur right wing-back Emerson Royal on talkSPORT (8:41am, February 20, 2023) for his performance against West Ham United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League at the weekend.
The former Tottenham player says that Emerson played like Cafu in the London derby between Spurs and West Ham.
The Brazil international wing-back started the match for Tottenham.
The former Barcelona player scored one of the goals for Spurs, who won the London derby.
And O’Hara was stunned, saying that Emerson seems to have completely changed now following the signing of Pedro Porro in the January transfer window.

O’Hara said: “Emerson Royal, all of a sudden, he looks like prime Cafu.
“I mean, I don’t know what has happened to him. Pedro Porro has come in, and it has obviously given him a kick up the backside that he needed. He was fantastic again yesterday.”
Encouraging for Tottenham
In our view, Emerson Royal’s recent performances have been very encouraging for Tottenham Hotspur.
We know that the former Barcelona player is a very good player.
The main problem with him has been lack of consistency.
He seems to be adding that facet to his game now.
And let us not forget that Emerson was a right-back before he started playing for Antonio Conte at Tottenham at right wing-back.
They are different positions, and it does take players some time to get used to a new role.
