Luis Suarez has earned some support from Liverpool fans on social media after his actions with Jordan Henderson just after full-time last night.
What’s the story?
Suarez was actually booed by some sections of the Anfield crowd yesterday, during Atletico’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.
The Reds fans once loved Suarez for all his on the pitch antics, but they have now come up against him numerous times, and patience has worn thin.
It seems that some fans of Jurgen Klopp’s side have completely fallen out of love with Suarez.
But he did share a nice moment with old teammate Henderson as the pair walked off the pitch.
Suarez and Henderson embraced and trudged off the Anfield turf together, deep in conversation.
It was a moment that many Liverpool fans enjoyed seeing, and it left many questioning why Suarez was booed last night.
A subdued evening
Suarez actually was fairly quiet during yesterday’s game.
He had very little involvement and although he was booked for dissent, there were no other histrionics of note.
In our view the booing could be seen as slightly harsh, but Suarez can hardly have any complaints.
His behaviour in past games against Liverpool has understandably annoyed some fans – and he can actually consider himself rather fortunate that he still has some support at Anfield, even after his year’s of service to the club.
Liverpool’s win yesterday has sealed their progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League in what initially looked to be a tough group.
