Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has revealed the extent of injuries to some of his key players in his press conference, ahead of Thursday’s Europa League game against LASK.

Spurs are flying in the Premier League at the moment, but they have a good test against Arsenal coming up. Form and past results go out the window in a derby, but Tottenham will certainly go into the game as favourites.

However, supporters were given a scare this afternoon as news emerged that Harry Kane did not take part in training. Mourinho was quizzed about a possible injury to his star striker and a few other players, and the Tottenham boss’s response will ease some supporters’ concerns.

Mourinho told Football London: “All injured. (Erik) Lamela is an injury from three weeks, a month. I don’t believe he has a chance for the weekend. Harry (Kane), (Carlos) Vinicius and Sergio (Reguilon) – there is a chance for the weekend.”

Lamela’s Spurs career has constantly been hampered with injuries. The Argentine is one of Tottenham’s most skillful players, but his inability to keep fit has become a big issue.

Ben Davies will provide cover for Reguilon if the Spaniard does not recover from his problem by Sunday. Young Japhet Tanganga can also play at left-back, which makes that a very small concern for Mourinho.

However, the biggest issue at the moment is with Tottenham’s striker. Kane is Spurs’ most important player and his record in the North London derby against Arsenal is brilliant.

Mourinho has claimed that his talisman has a chance to return on Sunday, and Spurs fans will be praying for that to happen. However, if doesn’t, and if Vinicius also fails to recover, Tottenham will have a problem.

Either Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura or Gareth Bale will have to start up front. All three of them are capable of causing problems to Arsenal, but none of them are Kane and the Gunners will be confident of a result if the Englishman fails to make the squad.
