Speaking on The Stand with Eamon Dunphy, Arsenal legend Liam Brady has been discussing Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League title.
The Gunners sit at the top of the Premier League table after almost one-third of the season, and the time has come to start discussing the north London club as genuine contenders.
Mikel Arteta’s side are certainly showing that they have the talent to be in the mix come the end of the season, but Brady isn’t convinced that they can get over the line.
Indeed, the pundit says that the Gunners don’t have the required depth to pip Manchester City to the post.

Don’t have the depth
Brady spoke about Arsenal’s chances of winning the league.
“They have backup, but I’m not sure we have the backup required to win a league title you know. When you look at City’s squad, they have quality and depth all over the place, so it’s going to be a hard ask for Arsenal to stay on top, but Arteta would take Champions League all day long. Arsenal have been out of it for five or six seasons, so they want to get back into that,” Brady said.
January is big
Brady is right, Arsenal probably don’t have the depth needed to win the league right now, but they only have to get through a few more games before they can address that.
Indeed, the January transfer window is just around the corner, and with the World Cup break halting the season throughout November and December, Arsenal will be able to make signings sooner rather than later.
With The Sun reporting that Arsenal have £50m to spend in January, they could easily add two or three quality players with that sort of money, and perhaps that would make them title challengers.
