Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has raved about his teammate Ibrahima Konate on the club’s official website.
Alisson was pleased to see Konate make his debut for Liverpool against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The 22-year-old central defender, signed from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window, helped the Reds keep a clean sheet in the Premier League game.
Liverpool won 3-0.
Alisson told Liverpool’s official website about Virgil van Dijk and Konate: “Both are amazing players. Virgil is already an experienced player.
“Ibou, just starting, a young boy with a lot of energy and a big man as well, works hard every day – you can see it in the training.
“So, he was ready for the first game and I am happy for him because [he is] someone who can really help us during this season. “

Encouraging
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised Konate after the match against Palace, saying that the youngster is “incredibly talented” and “played a really good game”.
The youngster had a pass accuracy of 87.3%, won two headers, took 65 touches, and made three tackles, one interception and three clearances.
It was not exactly a perfect debut for Konate on a personal level, as the 22-year-old did look nervy at the start and in certain moments.
However, it is very encouraging to see Alisson speak so highly of Konate and give a glimpse of how the defender is in training.
Liverpool manager Klopp has a lot of options in central defence, and Konate will have to fend off stiff competition to play regularly alongside Van Dijk.
