Liverpool supporters were left raving over Luis Diaz on Friday night.

Thousands of Reds fans tuned into Colombia’s international clash with Peru to watch the Porto attacker do his thing.

Bear in mind that the news of his imminent transfer to Liverpool had already broken, hence why so many supporters of the Anfield outfit were keen spectactors.

Considering that the Premier League side are about to spend £50 million him, Diaz is clearly a brilliant footballer and it’ll be fascinating to see how he adapts to life in England.

One Liverpool player who already knows about his quality is goalkeeper Alisson.

The Brazilian stopper came up against Diaz in an international outing against Colombia in November.

And speaking before the game, Alisson described his soon-to-be teammate as an ‘excellent player’.

He said: “Luis Diaz is an excellent player, he does a lot of work for the defence, he did it in the goals of Copa America.”

Perfect signing

Diaz might well be the perfect player for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

As Alisson pointed out, the South American gets through a lot of defensive work and that’s exactly what the German boss will demand once he arrives at Kirkby.

Being brilliant on the ball will only get you so far; being brilliant off it a fundamental staple in Klopp’s philosophy and there’s a good chance he will dazzle in the Premier League under the former Borussia Dortmund boss.

Klopp and Michael Edwards have a very good success rate when it comes to spending big money on players and therefore, the odds certainly favour Diaz being a success in the Premier League.
