Rangers fans on Twitter are imploring Alfredo Morelos to stay at Ibrox, amid speculation about his future.

The Colombian is heavily linked with a move away from Glasgow this summer.

According to The Record, West Bromwich Albion and Lille are both targeting the Rangers star, who is valued at £20 million.

Despite the rumours, Gers boss Steven Gerrard is set to start him in this afternoon’s Premiership curtain raiser away to Aberdeen.

Morelos was Rangers’ top goalscorer last season by finding the net 29 times, something the light Blues acknowledged on their Twitter account on Friday.

And the 24-year-old responded to that tweet in the form of a few emojis – such as the trademark buffalo one in reference to his nickname – but Rangers fans were quick to hijack the post, begging him to stick around.

Even if they do get £20 million, will it stop Celtic from winning 10 Premiership titles in a row?

Gerrard would certainly have a bit of money to spend, but this is a player who scored 28 goals during the first half of last season, before January.

Morelos is a phenomenal goalscorer when he’s on song and there’s just no guarantee Rangers will find a better one, even if they use the entire £20 million, which wouldn’t happen.
