He also joined an esteemed group of players to score 30 goals in a single season at Ibrox.
Negri is one of them, and sent a message to Morelos to congratulate him.
Morelos’ season was one of extreme highs and lows.
A high point was the way he struck four goals in a single game against Kilmarnock.
The lows were the all too predictable red cards, coming in crucial games against Aberdeen and Celtic.
If Rangers can hang onto him next season, this is an obvious area for improvement.
