Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is reportedly wanted by Bordeaux, but the Ibrox star is happy at the Gers.
Alfredo Morelos of Rangers
According to Herald Scotland, Rangers have turned down a bid of £3.75 million for star striker Morelos from Bordeaux in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool legend Gerrard has suggested that it will cost him three times that much to sign a suitable replacement for the 22-year-old Colombian striker.
Gerrard told Herald Scotland: “To accept bit like that for Alfredo, I’m probably going to have to spend treble that amount for a replacement to score goals like him.”
Staying at Rangers
Morelos is one of the best young players in the Scottish Premiership, and there is no surprise that French club Bordeaux are reportedly interested in the youngster.
The Colombian, though, does not seem to be in a hurry to leave Rangers, and has suggested that he wants to carry on working with Gerrard at Ibrox.
The Daily Record quotes Morelos as saying about Gerrard: “We had a talk recently and he told me I will always have his trust and support. He told me I could count on him for anything and if there was anything I wanted just to talk to him.”
The youngster added: “It is a beautiful, welcoming city with many interesting things to do. The people are friendly and I am very happy to be at such an important club, because here the fans love me, it’s crazy.
“In every match they sing my name. That’s incredible and it fills me with motivation to run and work harder for the team. It’s amazing to see a whole stadium chanting your name.”

Important player
Morelos does have issues with consistency, but at the moment the 22-year-old is the best striker on the books of Rangers.
The 22-year-old has been playing well for the Gers this season, and the youngster is only going to get better in the coming months.
Rangers have to hold onto Morelos this season if they are to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
