Could Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers still rival Scottish Premiership champions Celtic for 33-goal Jack Marriott if Alfredo Morelos leaves?

The Scottish Sun reported earlier this week that Rangers have decided against a move for Celtic-linked Jack Marriott.
Peterborough United are said to be looking for around £5 million for the 23-year-old, who scored a whopping 33 goals across all competitions for the League One outfit last season.
That opened the door for Celtic to take advantage but, if rumours are to be believed, Rangers could yet come back into the race.
According to The Daily Mail, Gers hitman Alfredo Morelos is a £6 million target for a number of clubs from China, Turkey and France.

That is quite a lot of interest and if Rangers can pick up that fee then in theory it would allow them to compete with Celtic for the English hitman once more.
If it was a lack of finances which made a move to Ibrox unfeasible then surely the cash injection from the Colombian’s sale would change things dramatically.
Of course, Morelos’s future isn’t quite cut and dry, and he might yet stay in Glasgow, but the Blues will be handsomely compensated if he doesn’t and it makes sense to at least rival the Hoops for Marriott if he goes.
