Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been quoted as saying by The Daily Mail why he has made a strong start to the season.

Morelos joined Scottish Premiership giants Rangers from Finnish club Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi in the summer transfer window.

According to The Daily Record, the Gers had to pay HJK a transfer fee of £1 million in order to secure the services of the 21-year-old striker.

Morelos has hit the ground running at Ibrox and has scored eight goals in nine matches for the Gers, according to The Daily Record.

The same publication has also reported that Aston Villa in the Championship in England are interested in signing the Colombia Under-20 international in the January transfer window.

Morelos has explained why he has been a success at Rangers so far.

“I think the Scottish game has suited me,” The Daily Mail quotes Morelos as saying. “I enjoy the physical side of the game and I think I have become quicker and more powerful since joining Rangers. I also think I do well in the air.

“In Scotland, teams don’t want me to receive the ball in the penalty box because they know I am very dangerous.

“Since I arrived in Scotland, it has been a very nice experience, I felt very happy at this club from the first day I arrived.”

Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 11 points from six matches. Pedro Caixinha’s side are five points behind leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic.
