Tottenham Hotspur secured the services of Fernando Llorente in the summer transfer window.
The North London club signed the Spain international striker on a two-year contract from Premier League rivals Swansea City.
According to Sky Sports, Tottenham had to pay the Welsh outfit a transfer fee of £12.1 million in order to secure the services of the 32-year-old striker.
Llorente played the 2016-17 season at Swansea and was a huge success at the Liberty Stadium.
The former Athletic Bilbao and Juventus star scored 15 goals and provided one assist in 28 Premier League starts for the Swans.
Swansea defender Alfie Mawson has spoken highly of Llorente and has outlined what Spurs will get from the 32-year-old striker.
“He is a massive threat in the box, he is so strong,” said Mawson about Llorente on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News on Monday morning (broadcast from 10am, September 4, 2017). “He wants to score and he can score.”
Interestingly, Mawson was also linked with a move to Tottenham from Swansea in the summer transfer window.
The Sun reported back in June that Spurs were planning to make a £15 million for the 23-year-old centre-back, who joined Swansea from Barnsley in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Star to be worth £5m.
