The LA Galaxy are reportedly looking at signing free agents, with the MLS giants set to dip their toes in the transfer market next month.
As per the Athletic, a loophole in the MLS lawbook means the Galaxy can bypass their international transfer ban once the secondary window opens next week, with the FIFA window expiring September 2nd.
A huge oversight from MLS now means that the Galaxy can go big on a free agent signing, especially with Designated Player Javier Hernandez no longer registered due to a season-ending injury.
With many options out there in the market, here are five free agents the Galaxy could sign to revive their MLS playoff chances in the coming weeks.
Alfredo Morelos

A glance at Transfermarkt’s free agent list shows that there’s a lot of quality out there in the market for the Galaxy to pick from, and one of the most appealing options that jumps out immediately is former Rangers star Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian international spent six productive and explosive years in Glasgow where Morelos established himself as one of the most reliable goalscorers in Europe. And for the Galaxy, the 27-year-old could be a dream free agent signing.
Adama Traore
The Galaxy struck gold last year with the signing of Riqui Puig from FC Barcelona, and another La Masia graduate who could be tempted with a move to California is Adama Traore, who is fresh off leaving Premier League side Wolves.
The monstrous Spanish international is yet find a new club despite a great reputation in England as a strong dribbler and athlete, and MLS could be a dream league for Traore, with Galaxy in need of a forward.
Alexis Sanchez

The oldest player on this list by some distance, Alexis Sanchez has enjoyed something of a career revival in the last 12 months in France, with the former Arsenal and Inter Milan star finding his form again for Olympique Marseille.
Now a free agent though in talks with numerous clubs, including re-signing for Marseille, the Galaxy could be a dream destination for the Chilean international, who could become an icon in MLS with the California giants.
Rey Manaj
Rey Manaj has had an interesting career that has taken the Albanian international to Inter Milan to Barcelona to, most recently, Watford in the English Championship. Yet MLS could be the 26-year-old’s next calling.
The Galaxy’s need for a new leading striker is evident for all to see, and with Manaj in search of a new purpose in soccer, Greg Vanney’s side could be a great option for the former Barcelona forward, who could thrive in MLS.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Arguably the highest-profile name mentioned, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be tempted with the prospect of swapping Liverpool with Los Angeles amid minimal Premier League interest since his Anfield departure.
With a popstar girlfriend, California dreamin’ could be a real appeal to Oxlade-Chamberlain, who could also be a fantastic midfield foil to Puig as well as a versatile option out in the attack.
