Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has responded to Everton star Alex Iwobi’s post on Instagram following the match against Fulham.
Everton got the better of Fulham 3-2 away from home at Craven Cottage in London in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Iwobi is a winger by trade and can also operate as a forward, but against the Cottagers, the 24-year-old was deployed as a right wing-back.
Although it was an unfamiliar position for the former Arsenal player, he played well and showed his versatility and adaptability.
The 24-year-old was very good going on the attack and was solid defensively.
According to WhoScored, Iwobi had a pass accuracy of 87.5%, took 75 touches, attempted five dribbles, made two interceptions and two clearances, and put in five crosses.
So far this season, the Nigeria international – who cost Everton an initial transfer fee of £28 million when they signed him from Arsenal in the summer of 2019, as reported by BBC Sport – has made two starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Toffees, providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
French striker Lacazette played with Iwobi at Arsenal, and he has compared him to former Inter Milan and Brazil international right-back/right wing-back Maicon, while Yannick Bolasie has praised him.
Lacazette responded: “Maicon 🔥”
Bolasie responded: “Full on 💨💨💨💨 #Big17💫”
