The Gunners stated that the 22-year-old France international defender has signed “a new long-term contract”.
Saliba has taken to Instagram to express his delight at committing his long-term future to Arsenal.
And his French compatriot Alexandre Lacazette has applauded the decision, as you can see below.
Lacazette is a former Arsenal striker who is now on the books of Lyon.

In our opinion, Arsenal handing William Saliba a new contract is a very smart decision.
The 22-year-old was brilliant for the Gunners last season and was one of the best young players in the Premier League.
That Arsenal have decided to hand the youngster a new deal shows how much they want him to stay at the club in the long run.
It will give Saliba confidence and motivation to do even better than he did last season.
And we believe that he will.
