Goal journalist Charles Watts has said on his YouTube channel that Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is back in pre-season training.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also at London Colney.

Watts, who is well-connected and well-informed, has added that both the strikers will be part of the Arsenal squad that travel to Scotland next week.

The journalist said about Lacazette on his YouTube channel on July 9, 2021: “He is back. He has not been in any of the pictures yet, but he is at London Colney.

“He is there today, and so is Aubameyang. I suspect they will both go to Scotland on Monday with the tour.”

What does the future hold for Lacazette?

There have been no pictures of Lacazette in pre-season training so far, and understandably some Arsenal fans would have been concerned.

However, it seems that the 30-year-old is at London Colney, and all is well.

The French striker has been linked with a move away from Arsenal.

Journalist Duncan Castles claimed on the Transfer Window Podcast last month that Arsenal were planning to sell Lacazette to bring in Andre Silva.

However, the Portuguese striker joined RB Leipzig from Eintracht Frankfurt.

France international striker Lacazette is out of contract at Arsenal next summer.

The Gunners have a decision to make now.

The North London club run the risk of losing the striker on a free next summer, but he is 30 now and handing him a long-term deal on improved terms would be a risk as well.
