Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette could push for a move away from the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window, with Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Sevilla interested in him, according to ESPN.

What’s the story?

ESPN are reporting this morning that Atletico, Juventus and Sevilla all are interested in signing Lacazette from Arsenal.

The France international striker is out of contract at the Gunners at the end of the season.

Arsenal have not offered the 30-year-old a new deal.

So, as it stands, Lacazette will become a free agent in the summer of 2022.

The report has added that the former Lyon star could push for a move from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

January exit would make sense

If Arsenal have not offered Lacazette a new contract, then it is unlikely that they are going to make an offer in the coming weeks and months.

It seems that the Gunners are happy to let the player simply leave when his contract runs out.

The Arsenal no.9 – described as “phenomenal” by manager Mikel Arteta in Football.London last month – has played 31 minutes in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season.

The striker has also scored two goals and given one assist in two Carabao Cup matches.

Lacazette surely wants to play regularly, and that is unlikely to happen at Arsenal.

It would make sense for the striker to try to find a new club in the middle of the season.
