Gary Lineker has said on Twitter that Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold should play in midfield.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker made the comment about the Liverpool defender while watching him in action against Chelsea at Anfield in the Premier League this evening.
Lineker believes that the 22-year-old is the best passer in English football, and thinks that he should switch to playing in midfield.
Switching to midfield?
Many players have switched positions and/or have added versatility to their game.
Alexander-Arnold could do that, if he wanted to.
And that is key.

What does Alexander-Arnold want?
Does the England international want to play as a right-back, or does he want to move into midfield?
Alexander-Arnold is one of the best right-backs in the world who can defend strongly and is also brilliant going on the attack.
What do they say? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

The youngster has scored eight goals in 132 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
The right-back gave seven assists in the Premier League last season, 13 in 2019-20 and 12 in 2018-19.
It would not be a bad idea for Alexander-Arnold to try himself in midfield on occasions, but he is a right-back first and foremost.
