Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has given his take on the Elland Road atmosphere after playing against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United this past weekend, as quoted on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (10:47pm, September 12, 2021).
Alexander-Arnold was in action for Liverpool in their Premier League game against Leeds at Elland Road this past Sunday.
The 22-year-old England international right-back – described as “world class” by former Tottenham Hotspur striker Gary Lineker on Twitter during the match – has given his reaction to the atmosphere created by the Leeds fans at Elland Road during the game.
Alexander-Arnold said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (10:47pm, September 12, 2021): “The first time I have been here as an opposition player. It’s a hostile atmosphere. They are loud, very passionate.”
Leeds United fans will be massive
Leeds lost against Liverpool, who were the better team over the course of the 90 minutes and deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter.

The Elland Road faithful were in loud voice, as expected, but on this occasion the fans could not affect the Liverpool players and the final outcome.
However, you have to admit that Liverpool are a far superior side to Leeds.
The likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson are world-class players, and a win for the Reds was always the most likely outcome.
