Alex Rae has suggested to The Glasgow Evening Times that Rangers should make a move for Norwich City attacking midfielder Graham Dorrans in the summer transfer window.
According to The Scottish Sun, Scottish Premiership giants Rangers are interested in signing Dorrans from Championship club Norwich in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Pedro Caixinha’s side will make an improved offer for the 30-year-old attacking midfielder.
Former Rangers midfielder Rae has suggested that the Glasgow giants should sign Dorrans from Norwich this summer.
The 47-year-old has also claimed that Dorrans is willing to take a pay-cut in order to make the switch to Rangers.
Graham Dorrans of Norwich City celebrates
“Dorrans is probably the best name which has been thrown onto the table,” Rae told The Glasgow Evening Times.
“I tried to sign him for Dundee in 2007, him and Robert Snodgrass, but they had the lure of the big move. They are from the East End of Glasgow so I’ve followed them throughout their careers.
“Dorrans would be a great addition and one of the things I’ve spoken to Alex McLeish about is that Rangers needs guys who know the club.
“Dorrans is steeped in that and I’m led to believe he’s willing to take a wage cut which shows he’s desperate to get up the road.”
Dorrans is a good attacking midfielder, and the Scotland international would be a good signing for Rangers.
The former Livingston man scored six goals and provided one assist in 23 Championship appearances for Norwich during the 2016-17 campaign.
With his extensive experience, Dorrans would enhance Rangers’ chances of closing the gap on Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership next season.
