Rangers face Aberdeen at Hampden Park in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.

Alex Rae has slammed Aberdeen after the Scottish Professional Football League decided to cut Aberdeen’s allocation for the Scottish League Cup semi-final at Hampden Park October 28.
Aberdeen had fought hard to increase their allocation to 20,300 for the last-four clash, after the kick-off times were moved following complaints with fans over getting to the stadium in time for the start of the match.
The Dons now face Steven Gerrard’s Rangers next Sunday at 4:30pm, and had won in their bid to be allocated 20,300 seats. But the club have only managed to sell around 9,000 of those.
That has seen the SPFL decide to reduce their allocation to less than 15,000, which was confirmed by Aberdeen’s official website in a statement posted on Thursday afternoon. Rae reacted on Twitter, describing it as “embarrassing”.
The statement reads that the club still have 5,500 to sell, but have only managed to offload less than 100 on Thursday, at the time of this story being written.
Rangers have two important matches to play before next Sunday’s semi-final, as they go up against Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday at the SuperSeal, before playing host to Spartak Moscow at Ibrox in the Europa League on Thursday.
