Alex Rae has praised Alfredo Morelos on Twitter for scoring goals for ‘fun’ during Rangers’ 4-0 win over St Johnstone on Sunday afternoon.
Striker Morelos opened the scoring just after the break before Steven Gerrard’s side doubled their lead through Connor Goldson just after the hour mark.
But in the dying moments, as the home team tried to make something of the game, substitute Jermaine Defoe netted a brace within two minutes to make sure the points were heading back to Ibrox.
During the game, former Rangers man, Rae, sent these messages from his personal Twitter account:
It ends a positive week for Rangers because on Thursday night they recorded a narrow win over Feyenoord in the Europa League and now they have backed it up with three points in the Premiership.
Gerrard will no doubt would have been pleased with how ruthless his team were, especially with how his substitutes performed.
In the first half, Rangers were poor, but they came out in the second half and reacted well by scoring within minutes of the restart.
The Gers will now turn their attention to Scottish League Cup action where Gerrard’s side will take on Livingston next Wednesday night.
