Rangers are yet to appoint a permanent successor at Ibrox, following Pedro Caixinha’s sacking in October.

The Light Blues are yet to appoint a permanent successor to Pedro Caixinha, after the Mexican was sacked back in October with the Gers struggling to keep pace with Old Firm rivals Celtic.
However, Murty has been in caretaker charge of the Scottish giants since the sacking of Caixinha, guiding the Gers to five wins in his seven matches – including two wins against Aberdeen as well as Saturday’s comeback against Ross County.

Rae, who played for Rangers in his youth career before returning to Ibrox in 2004 for two years, stated he does not know who he would like to see take over at Ibrox after the Gers were snubbed in their approach to land Aberdeen’s Derek McInnes.
“Honestly don’t know,” Rae said, when asked who he would like to see at his former side. “We’re having a bit of a nightmare at the moment with getting a replacement. Graeme Murty is doing a decent job at the time being though.”

Murty, 43, is set to take charge of his eighth match in his second interim spell on Wednesday night in what could be considered the former Reading defender’s toughest match since replacing Caixinha.
The Gers travel to Easter Road to face Neil Lennon’s Hibernian, who will be on a high after a sparkling comeback against Celtic on Sunday afternoon to draw 2-2. Hibs have already beaten Rangers this season, winning 3-2 at Ibrox.
Another Murty win would see the Gers keep the pressure on league leaders Celtic, who sit five points ahead at the top. Brendan Rodgers’ side are expected to maintain that gap as they play host to Hamilton.
