Rangers beat Celtic in the Scottish Premiership’s last round.

Alex Rae has told The Scotsman he loved how Steven Gerrard backed up his comments after Rangers lost to Celtic early in the season.
Rangers suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Celtic four months ago, before beating their rivals by the same score at the end of December.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard did not overreact after the Celtic Park loss, and urged patience. Gerrard also set a date for his team to be judged, and lived up to it.
Rae liked his comments and especially how Rangers followed up the defeat by responding with an Old Firm win of their own.

He said: “After they lost at Celtic Park in September, he said ‘judge us on 29 December’.
“That was a massive statement because he had to back it up. His team did that by beating Celtic at Ibrox.
“It has been impressive because I don’t think anyone would have foreseen it at the start of the season.”
Rae added that he still regards Celtic as favourites for the title.
Celtic are level on points with Rangers, with a game in hand.
It is Rangers who have the most momentum, but that can quickly turn if they are at all sluggish coming off their mid-season break.
Gerrard will know that his club will really be judged on where they are at the end of the season, and there is plenty of work to do.
