Jermain Defoe stole the show for Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers.

Alex Rae has reserved praise for Jermain Defoe following his hat-trick in Rangers 5-0 demolition of Hamilton at Ibrox today.

The ever-green hitman made it 12 goals for the season in all competitions after his brilliant treble at Ibrox this afternoon.

It’s the second hat-trick that the 36-year-old has scored for Rangers since August after his barnstorming display in the 6-1 win over Hibernian earlier in the campaign.

Defoe’s second against Accies might be the pick of the bunch and here’s how Gers legend Rae reacted on Twitter:

Defoe, who is on loan at Rangers from Bournemouth, joined Steven Gerrard’s side in January and what a difference he is making.

Twelve goals already and we’re only just starting October. It’s a phenomenal return for the former England international, who turns 37 next week.

Gerrard’s side are now two points clear of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership after the Hoops’ shock defeat at Livingston today.
