Former Rangers midfielder Alex Rae has said that Celtic youngster Olivier Ntcham has lost his way at the club, as quoted in The Scottish Sun.

Rae, who played for Rangers from 2004 until 2006, made the comments following Ntcham’s performance against Hibernian away from home at Easter Road in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend.

The 23-year-old midfielder started the match on Sunday afternoon and played for 62 minutes, as it ended in a goalless draw.

The Frenchman struggles to make an impact and had a poor game, and Rae was far from impressed with the midfielder’s contribution to Celtic against Hibernian.

The Scottish Sun quotes Rae as saying about Ntcham: “I think he has lost his way a little bit. I think his pal Dembele leaving hasn’t helped him.

“For me, when he is on his game he is one of the standout midfielders in the country. But yesterday I couldn’t believe what I was watching. He was passing the ball out of the park.”

Stats

Ntcham has made 15 starts and two substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic so far this season, scoring three goals in the process, according to WhoScored.

The French midfielder joined the Glasgow giants from Manchester City in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £4.5 million.

Celtic have won the Scottish League Cup already this season, and have reached the final of the Scottish Cup and are set to clinch the Scottish Premiership.
