Tottenham Hotspur’s Alex Pritchard is enjoying his loan spell with Brentford.

Tottenham Hotspur prospect Alex Pritchard says that the brand of football he is playing while on loan at Brentford is very similar to the tactics adopted at White Hart Lane.

The Bees have been one of the Championship’s surprise packages this campaign and look like promotion contenders, but their style of play has won as many admirers as their results.

Mark Warburton’s team play with a demanding, possession-based style of football which requires them to keep the ball on the floor and Pritchard says that the principles are similar to those Mauricio Pochettino is coaching back at his parent club.

“It is brilliant to be part of,” he said to the club’s official site.

“The football we play day in, day out on the training ground is not a lot different to Tottenham’s.

“We work really hard at it. There are some big players there but when you see the football we play, why can’t we be in that league? We go to win every game and play our football.”

The words are sure to be a boost to Spurs, who have put a great deal of faith in Brentford to continue to aid Pritchard’s development.

A host of Premier League sides had wanted to encourage the Lilywhites to use a recall clause in the winger’s loan deal in January and relocate him, but Spurs have rejected those enquiries as they want him to finish the season at Brentford.

It is expected that Tottenham will make a decision over the 21-year-old’s future in the 2015-16 campaign’s pre-season, with Pochettino keen to view his talents first-hand before deciding whether to give him a chance in the first team or cash in on him.

Brentford are known to be hoping to make Pritchard’s move a permanent one, but the youngster will be trying to show that he can be a threat even at the top level by continuing his excellent form over the rest of the season.
