Norwich City summer signing Alex Pritchard made his first start for the club last night and it was a memorable one.

The attacking midfielder played a key role in Norwich winning 2-0 away to Everton, upsetting the in form Premier League side.

Pritchard signed for the Canaries for £8 million [fee reported via Mirror] and is looking to really make a name for himself after spending several seasons in Tottenham’s youth team.

The England under-21 international had made three substitute appearances for Norwich since his arrival, and last night was positive progress as he played 89 minutes of the victory.

Pritchard cleared a goal bound effort off the line with the score at 1-0, and minutes later Norwich went up the field and scored a second through Josh Murphy.

He also played a part in Steven Naismith’s goal, involved in the team move in the build up.

His contribution was a positive sign, and while there is much more to come from him, it was an important step.

Norwich are sitting in second place in the Championship and Pritchard may find it tricky to push his way into a regular starting spot right now, but he did himself no harm last night.
