Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored a superb goal as Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-0.

A one sided Champions League quarter final has put the Reds within touching distance of the last four.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was understandably in high spirits after the victory, and sent a brief message on Twitter after the win alongside a picture of him celebrating, illustrating his fantastic ‘mood’.

Oxlade-Chamberlain took a lot of criticism early in the season after his move to Liverpool, but he is quietly going about answering his critics.

He is proving a vital squad player for Liverpool and is making a mockery of Arsene Wenger’s decision to play him as a full-back for Arsenal.

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet replied to Oxlade-Chamberlain’s message, congratulating him on his well taken goal.

Mignolet was on the bench supporting the Reds after recently losing his place to goalkeeper Loris Karius.

Karius had little to do, with City remarkably failing to manage a shot on target.

He will hope for a similarly easy night in the second leg.
