Arsenal reportedly want to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the January transfer window, and the Liverpool midfielder should jump at the chance to return to the Emirates Stadium.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain transfer rumour

The Sun are reporting that Arsenal are keen on signing Oxlade-Chamberlain on loan from Premier League rivals Liverpool.

The England international midfielder, who reportedly earns £125,000 per week as salary, is considering a potential transfer to Arsenal.

The Mirror have also reported Arsenal’s interest in the Liverpool midfielder.

Now, what’s there to consider?

If Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants Oxlade-Chamberlain at the Emirates Stadium, then the 28-year-old should reunite with his former Gunners’ teammate.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is not getting much playing time at Liverpool at the moment, and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.

The Liverpool no.15 has made one start and one substitute appearance in the Premier League this season.

The midfielder has played only 23 minutes in the Champions League for the Reds so far this season.

The 2022 World Cup finals will be held next year, and there is still a small chance that the 28-year-old could get into the England squad…

If he plays regularly.

Now, it is not going to be easy for Oxlade-Chamberlain to get into the Arsenal starting lineup.

However, if the Gunners want him, then clearly Arteta wants to play him.

Moreover, Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny are likely to be away in January for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.

That will open the door for Oxlade-Chamberlain – described as “a great player” by Rangers star Ianis Hagi in The Times in November 2019 – to cement his place in the Arsenal midfield.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is a dynamic box-to-box midfielder who has a lot to offer.

Moreover, the Englishman knows Arsenal inside out, and he would not take time to settle into life at the Gunners.
