Alex Neil provides Norwich City transfer update; with Sunderland reportedly looking at Robbie Brady

Sunderland are said to have made a £10 million offer for Norwich City’s Robbie Brady.

Alex Neil has told the Shields Gazette that if Robbie Brady does leave Carrow Road this month, it will be on Norwich City’s terms.

Sunderland have been strongly linked with Brady in recent weeks, and are said to have made a £10 million offer for the left-sided player.

The Black Cats have a limited budget this month, but Brady is believed to be a player that David Moyes in chasing.

And Neil has confirmed that Norwich have received contact from other clubs for their players, although he would not confirm the identity of the squad members in question. Neil also suggested that no deal is close at this stage of time.

“There have been negotiations that are on-going and contact from other clubs,” the Norwich boss said.

“I am not going to be specific about who that is or how much we are talking about. There has been dialogue. I wouldn’t expect anything to happen soon because it is not at those levels. It will be our timescale and on our terms.”

Brady has previously impressed at Premier League level, with both Norwich and Hull City.

Moyes reportedly believes that the 25-year-old has the quality required to help Sunderland in their fight against the drop.

Persuading Norwich to sell could be difficult though, as Brady has played an important part for the Canaries this term.

Brady has made 21 Championship appearances for Neil’s side, scoring on three occasions and setting up four goals.
