Alex Mowatt has joined Barnsley from Leeds United.
Barnsley have announced on their official website that they have signed Alex Mowatt from Leeds United.
It has been announced that Mowatt has moved to Barnsley on an initial two-and-a-half-year contract.
The Championship club have not disclosed the transfer fee they have had to pay Leeds in order to secure the services of the 21-year-old midfielder.
Barnsley have also posted a photo of Mowatt with the club’s shirt on their official Twitter page.

Mowatt has explained his decision to leave Leeds for Championship rivals Barnsley in the January transfer window.
“I’m really happy to be joining such a good club and I can’t wait to get going here,” the midfielder told Barnsley’s official website. “The gaffer showed me his plans for me and the plans he has for the future.
“It was good to see how he thinks and how he wants to play, he’s really sold his ambitions to me and made me desperate to come in and get going.”

Mowatt is a very talented and promising young midfielder, and the move to Barnsley could help him return to form.
The 21-year-old midfielder knows the Championship inside out, and he would take no time in adapting to the intensity of the game in the division.
The former England Under-20 international was able to play in 14 Championship matches for Leeds this season before his move to Barnsley.
Barnsley are eighth in the Championship table at the moment, while Leeds are currently third in the standings.
