Celtic were 5-1 winners in the Old Firm derby on Saturday.
Former Rangers manager Alex McLeish has told talkSPORT that the loss to Celtic was excruciating.
Mark Warburton’s side travelled to Celtic Park on Saturday for the first Old Firm derby in the league in four years.
It proved to be an unhappy afternoon for them though as Brendan Rodgers’ side put in a consummate performance to seal an impressive 5-1 victory.
It was a chastening experience for the Gers, who were harbouring hopes of challenging their rivals for the title this season.
And McLeish has admitted that the defeat was a painful one for him to watch.
“It was a bit of an excruciating result but you have to say that Celtic played very well.Mark [Warburton] will look at the flip side of the coin and say that the goals they gave away were atrocious,” he told talkSPORT.

A loss such as this one is hard to shake off regardless of the opponent, but the fact it was to their fierce rivals is likely to make it even harder to forget.
Next up in the league are Ross County and it will be interesting to see what kind of performance they put in. Another negative display and major questions will likely be asked of them and their manager.
