Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers were one of the busiest teams in Scotland during the previous transfer window.
Former Glasgow Rangers boss Alex McLeish has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on 5th October, that he is not convinced Mark Warburton’s summer business will prove to be effective.
Rangers brought a host of players to Ibrox to try and add quality to their squad, as they looked to compete with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
However, Rangers’ new signings have not had the desired impact so far, and McLeish feels that both Philippe Senderos and Joey Barton are struggling to fit in at Ibrox.
“They bought in experienced players to try and have that gravitas to compete with Celtic, and it’s not worked out. Senderos seems to be finding his legs a little bit, and Joey has had his problems,” McLeish said.
“I saw him in the Championship with Burnley and he did well, but they were a compact team and again they had a good balance in terms of defending and attacking.
“In the games he has played for Rangers he has looked alone when teams are breaking against them. Maybe he just doesn’t suit the way Rangers are trying to play.”
Senderos has made just two appearances for Rangers so far, and neither have gone according to plan.
The former Arsenal centre-back was sent off on debut against Celtic, and he could now face retrospective disciplinary action after committing an off the ball foul against Partick last weekend.
Barton, meanwhile, has been suspended by Rangers for three weeks after a training ground disagreement.
Rangers have not made the start to the season that many were expecting, and currently sit in fifth place in the Scottish Premiership table, after eight matches have been played.
