Former Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has been discussing Harry Redknapp taking over at his old club.

Redknapp will be looking to work his magic at Birmingham next season after agreeing to manage the side he led to Championship survival, as reported by the likes of Sky Sports.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United boss is one of the most respected managers in English football and after a sabbatical from the game is now back in the hot seat at St Andrews.
After keeping Brum away from the Championship trapdoor, Redknapp will now focus his attentions on rebuilding the Blues to mount a promotion bid next season.
And former Birmingham boss McLeish has backed the 70-year-old to show the senior managers have still got what it takes in an interview with talkSPORT.
“I don’t think so (he’s too old), listen it’s in his blood,” McLeish told Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast.

“After all (is said and done) it’s the old saying ‘experience is forever’ – he’s proved that over these last three games that he went into with Birmingham, he’s steadied the ship, he’s given them a bit of belief, he’s organised them.
“It shows you it’s not just about going in there and buying 20 players at great expense.
“He’s going in there and organising a team he didn’t really know about and great credit to Harry for that.”

The ex Queens Park Rangers manager has a reputation as something of a wheeler dealer in the transfer market and fans will be hoping he uses his connections to drastically improve the Blues squad over the summer.
Given that former boss Gary Rowlett had the Brum on the verge of the playoffs when he was dismissed, there is hope and should Redknapp work his magic to strengthen the team’s spine, they could mount a genuine attempt to return to the top flight.
