Lopez spent last season on loan to Sheffield Wednesday from Celta Vigo.

Alex Lopez may have a play-off push of his own to focus on, but the Spanish midfielder has not forgotten about Sheffield Wednesday’s.
Lopez, who was part of an Owls side which narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season, is currently on loan to Real Valladolid, who sit seventh in Spain’s second tier with five games left to play.
Nevertheless, the 29-year-old insists he will be keeping an eye on his old side’s progress, after they secured a fourth-placed finish in this season’s Championship – ensuring a second successive play-off campaign.
“Congrats to all the family of @swfc for getting the Top 6,” Lopez posted on Twitter after Wednesday’s final day defeat against Fulham, who they could encounter again at Wembley later this month. “All the best for the Playoff. I will be supporting from Spain.”

It seems Lopez’s efforts haven’t been forgotten, either, with Owls fans replying to his message in numbers – and saying, essentially, the same thing.
Valladolid have the option to sign Lopez permanently at the end of his loan spell, in which he has made 27 appearances in all competitions to date.
Wednesday concluded deals for Premier League midfielders David Jones and Almen Abdi following the Galician’s return to Celta Vigo last summer.
