Everton reportedly want Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi.

Alex Iwobi will sign a new contract with Arsenal despite interest from Everton, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that Iwobi, who can operate as a winger or as a forward, is on the verge of putting pen to paper on a new deal and has agreed terms on an improved contract with Arsenal.

The Nigeria international attacker will commit his future at the Gunners until 2022, according to the report.

The Mirror has also claimed that Everton were among the clubs who were interested in signing the youngster in the summer transfer window.

Lazio and AC Milan have also been credited with interested in the 22-year-old by The Mirror.

Iwobi is still very young and is developing as a footballer, but the 22-year-old has shown that he can be a long-term success at Everton.

A player of Iwobi’s quality and potential would have been an asset for Marco Silva’s side, but it seems that the Toffees have missed out on the Nigeria international, who earns £30,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com.
