Former Leeds United defender Alex Bruce is currently on loan at Wigan Athletic from Hull City.
Irrespective of which division Leeds United are in next season, they will need to make signings in the summer transfer window. One of the departments Leeds should look into is their defence.
Although the Whites are well packed in defence at the moment with the likes of Kyle Bartley, Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson, they need to bring in another one in that department in order to be more competitive in 2017-18.
A move for Alex Bruce in the summer transfer window would be a smart idea. The 32-year-old defender is currently on loan at Wigan Athletic, having switched to the Championship club from Premier League outfit Hull City in the January transfer window.
According to The Hull Daily Mail, Bruce’s contract with Hull runs out in the summer, meaning that in a few weeks’ time he will be a free agent.
Back in 2012, Bruce joined Hull after leaving Leeds. The defender was released by the Whites after failing to make a huge impact at Elland Road.
Bruce may not be a world-class defender, but the 32-year-old is hugely experienced and has played in the Championship as well as in the Premier League.
The former Ipswich Town defender has progressed and improved since his departure from Leeds, who could do with his experience and know-how in the team next season.
