Wigan Athletic defender Alex Bruce has praised Aston Villa star Jack Grealish on social networking site Twitter for his performance against Birmingham City at the weekend.
The 33-year-old former Leeds United and Hull City defender, who is the son of Villa manager Steve Bruce, stated on Twitter that Grealish was a pleasure to watch during the Second City derby.
The 22-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, was a key player in the Villans’ 2-0 victory over Birmingham at Villa Park in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Grealish on fire
Grealish has established himself as one of the best and most important players in the current Villa team under manager Bruce.
The 22-year-old has scored one goal and provided four assists in nine Championship starts for the Villans so far this campaign.
Villa are in great form at the moment and are very much in the race to finish second in the Championship table this season.
Mile Jedinak praise
Meanwhile, Villa assistant manager Colin Calderwood has praised the performance of midfielder Mile Jedinak, and told The Birmingham Mail: “He was influential. won numerous headers and gave a nice foundation.
“He absorbed what might have been good starting points for Birmingham in the game.”
