Newcastle United are said to be keen to bring Ruben Loftus-Cheek to St. James’ Park this summer.

Aleksandar Golovin’s proposed move to Chelsea could be good news for Newcastle United, as it could push Ruben Loftus-Cheek closer to the exit door.

According to Goal, Chelsea are set to sign Golovin from CSKA Moscow this summer after agreeing a fee for the midfielder.

Golovin’s arrival at Chelsea is sure to excite the Stamford Bridge crowd, but it puts Lofuts-Cheek’s future into further doubt.

Loftus-Cheek has struggled for game-time at Chelsea, and Golovin’s arrival only puts another obstacle in his way.

Loftus-Cheek has already stated that he wants regular game-time next season, and with Chelsea unable to offer him that, Newcastle may now have a chance of snapping up the England international.

The Chronicle have suggested how Newcastle want to sign Loftus-Cheek, but initially it seemed an ambitious plan.

Newcastle surely don’t have the funds to sign Loftus-Cheek permanently, but with Golovin set to arrive at Chelsea, the Magpies may just have a hope of getting him on loan.

Chelsea are unlikely to want to lose Loftus-Cheek permanently, so agreeing to a temporary move could benefit them.

And Newcastle should be at the front of the queue for the attacking midfielder’s signature, if he is made available this summer.
