The Serbian striker has just three Championship appearances to his name before Wednesday night.

Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has told the club’s matchday programme, as quoted by the club website, that the goals will start to flow for him again soon.
Mitrovic has endured a stunted start to the season after missing the first four Championship fixtures through suspension, and has just three appearances under his belt in the league so far this term.
The Serbian international has started just one of those games, although he did score in that fixture, the 6-0 thrashing of QPR at Loftus Road.

He has found himself playing second fiddle to summer signing and top scorer Dwight Gayle, but is hoping to start for the Magpies tonight against fellow relegated side Norwich City.
The 22-year-old admitted he is still honoured to hear the St. James’ Park support singing a song in his honour, and vowed to reap their continued faith by getting back amongst the goals on a regular basis.
Mitrovic said, via the club’s website: “I played two games against (Norwich) and scored three goals, so hopefully I will score again and help my team to win the game. That’s what we want, and when we play at home, we have our fans behind us so we have to play a good game.

“It’s nice to hear my song, I like to hear it. It’s always nice to hear fans singing your name, especially when the stadium is full with 50,000 people. It sounds amazing.
“I always want more goals, and any striker wants to be better. I want to be better this season and score as many as I can. But I’m a team player, and first of all it’s important that the team wins games. The goals will come.”
Mitrovic has scored 10 goals for the Magpies since making a £13 million move from Anderlecht in the summer of 2015, despite starting only 23 league games to date in the Premier League and Championship.
