Aleksandar Mitrovic could be heading out of Newcastle United after two underwhelming seasons at St James’ Park, with Mynet suggesting Fenerbahce are set to make a loan bid.
The Serbia international moved to Tyneside for a reported £13million fee in 2015, firing nine Premier League goals in a mixed first campaign in England as Newcastle were relegated.

It was expected that Mitrovic would be given more chances by Rafa Benitez in the Championship, but the successful signing of Dwight Gayle saw the 22-year-old left on the fringes of the first team.
Although he netted just six goals in all competitions, his fine scoring record at previous club Anderlecht ensures he retains a positive reputation in Europe and Fenerbahce have now been linked.
However, if the Turkish club are only interested in a loan deal, Newcastle and Benitez would be wise to snub their advances.

Mitrovic has been given two seasons to impress in England and, if the Spanish manager feels the time has come to let the forward go, it would make sense to recoup a big fee while he is still young and has the potential to improve.
With Mitrovic – a boyhood Newcastle fan – away on loan, the Magpies would have to bring in another front man and then find themselves in a similar position next year.
This is a make-or-break summer for the big striker; he must establish himself under Benitez or move on for good.
