West Ham United striker Andy Carroll’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season.

Carroll’s contract expires at the end of the season, and the West Ham forward has already suggested that he would like to stay on at the London Stadium.
But Manuel Pellegrini’s latest transfer plan suggests that West Ham have other targets on their radar.
If West Ham were to land Mitrovic then he would be in direct competition with Carroll for a first-team spot.

The pair possess very similar qualities, but Mitrovic is far younger and there are no concerns over his injury record.
If MItrovic was to arrive then West Ham would have very little need for Carroll.
And the suggestion that the Hammers are now looking for new target-men can hardly be good news for Carroll’s hopes of earning a new deal with the London club.
