Manchester United have sacked Ruben Amorim, bringing an end to a turbulent spell at the club that was always marked by tension between the manager and several key players.

The final straw may have been his outburst following the loss to Leeds, even though the club cited other reasons for his departure.

One of those players was Alejandro Garnacho, who reportedly had several run-ins with Amorim during his time in charge. Now, the young winger has responded to the news of his dismissal.

Garnacho’s move to Chelsea has proven to be spectacularly ill-fated, as not only was Amorim relieved of his duties, but the Blues also sacked Enzo Maresca shortly before.

So even with the Portuguese manager’s exit, there is no real sense of vindication for how things unfolded during his time at Old Trafford.

Still, it was not surprising to see the 21-year-old pleased about the news. That was one of the more expected reactions as this story continued to unfold.

Sure enough, he made his feelings clear by liking Fabrizio Romano’s Instagram post announcing Amorim’s sacking.

At the time, he was the only notable ex-United player who had interacted with the post. Most players tend to avoid getting involved in situations like this, but that did not stop Garnacho from showing where he stood on the matter.

Why Alejandro Garnacho’s response reflects poorly on him

While Amorim had his issues at United, many fans have noticed that Garnacho’s reaction only ends up justifying some of the manager’s decisions.

This is the type of behaviour that put the winger in Amorim’s bad books in the first place, and the former manager had actually managed to address some of those cultural issues during his time in charge.

No matter who is managing United, this kind of reaction only adds to an already chaotic environment.

Garnacho may have shown how he feels about Amorim’s exit, but it does not exactly help his case. If anything, it highlights the reasons behind his fallout with the manager.
