Sergio Reguilon joined Manchester United from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, and he made his debut for Erik ten Hag’s side against Brighton and Hove Albion today.

Manchester United suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.

United have been struggling this season, and Erik ten Hag’s side just could not match the Seagulls even at home.

Reguilon joined the Red Devils on loan from Tottenham in the summer transfer window.

The Spaniard started at left-back for United and played for 85 minutes when Alejandro Garnacho replaced him.

Praise for Sergio Reguilon

As you can see below, Reguilon is disappointed with the defeat for United, but he is pleased to have made his debut for arguably the biggest club in England.

And 19-year-old Argentina international winger Garnacho has praised the 26-year-old defender for his performance.

Sergio Reguilon did start the match strongly for Manchester United.

However, the left-back’s eagerness to march forward saw Brighton exploit him on many occasions.

Performance review of Sergio Reguilon

Reguilon’s lack of playing time this season showed in the second half when his performance level dipped.

Although it was not one of the best performances from the Tottenham-owned left-back, he did do enough to suggest that he could prove to be a good addition to the United team.

Reguilon looked threatening going on the attack, but defensively he could have done better.

During his time on the pitch at Old Trafford, the left-back played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 87.9%, took 58 touches, attempted two dribbles, made two tackles and one clearance, and put in five crosses.
