The former Liverpool striker has suggested that he would not blame Brewster if he wants to leave the Reds in search of regular first-team football elsewhere.
According to a report in The Mirror in August, Leeds are interested in signing Brewster from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The Star reported this month that Aston Villa and Sheffield United want the 20-year-old striker, as covered by HITC Sport here, while The Daily Mail has claimed that West Bromwich Albion are interested in him.
Aldridge wrote in The Liverpool Echo: “If he’s not going to get games at Liverpool in the foreseeable future having seemingly now moved further down the pecking order, you can’t blame him for wanting to move on.
“It would be shrewd to have a buy-back option though because Liverpool are then covering themselves with a kind of insurance policy, having put years worth of training and development into the boy.
“He seems to have a good attitude and really comes alive in the box, perhaps the one area of his game which is lacking is that he doesn’t do enough outside the box which may be down to the way we play.”

Leaving Liverpool, but on loan
Given how good the Liverpool front-three are, it is hard to see Brewster break into the starting lineup anytime soon.
However, the Reds should not severe ties completely with the youngster just now, and should send him out on loan instead.
After all, Brewster is only 20 years of age, and he has not really been given the chance to show what he is capable of for the Liverpool first team.
Leeds and Villa are big and ambitious clubs, and a season on loan working under Marcelo Bielsa or Dean Smith would make the youngster a better player.
